Resonance Chanters (RC) is a Christian choir started in 2002, the ministry is focusing on the following four directions:
1. Develop the art of choral sacred music
2. Promote the Cantonese sacred music movement
3. Nurture church sacred music leaders
4. Enrich the church’s sacred music resources
RC originated from the “Intervarsity Music Outreach Ministry” of the Hong Kong Baptist University Christian Choir in 2002, which gathers university students who are aspired in serving God through music by organizing a Christian choir. The ministry aims to train choir members’ commitment to serve through choral singing and encourages university students to establish sacred music ensembles in their respective institutions. To date, RC has promoted and assisted in the establishment of more than 10 university sacred music ensembles.
The choir spares no effort in promoting sacred music ministry. Through different trainings, members serve in churches with their improved music and singing skills; it also provides training to associate conductors which allows them to serve as conductors in various universities. Over the years, the choir has organized and participated in different types of hymn singing events, workshops, lectures, concerts, etc. It has also actively communicated and cooperated with different churches to promote the culture of Cantonese hymn singing in the church. Recently, we have been working on Cantonese sacred choral productions.
